
Brian Butler
PRESIDENT & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Brian Butler, a retired and highly decorated U.S. Army officer, is the founder, president, and chief executive officer of Vistra Communications LLC. With more than 30 years of experience in strategic communications, public affairs, and executive advisory support, Brian has a distinguished record of service to senior leaders across the Department of Defense and federal government.
During his military career, Brian served as spokesperson and chief of communications for the Secretary of the Army and as a member of the personal staff and communications team for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. His federal experience also includes providing strategic communications counsel at U.S. Central Command and serving in a director-level policy role on the White House Homeland Security Council. Prior to founding Vistra, he worked in the Washington, D.C., office of the global communications firm Fleishman-Hillard International.
Since founding Vistra in 2007, Brian has expanded the company into a multifaceted firm supporting government, corporate, and nonprofit clients across a range of mission areas. His leadership reflects a strong commitment to public service, community engagement, and strengthening civil-military and public–private partnerships. He also serves on several boards of directors and is the creator of the CEOs in Schools initiative.
Brian holds a Master of Science in National Security Strategy from the National War College and a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from Hampton University and has completed executive education programs at several institutions nationwide.
